What is fonttools

fonttools is:

FontTools/TTX is a library to manipulate font files from Python. It supports reading and writing of TrueType/OpenType fonts, reading and writing of AFM files, reading (and partially writing) of PS Type 1 fonts. It also contains a tool called “TTX” which converts TrueType/OpenType fonts to and from an XML-based format.

This provides the executables of fontTools package.

There are three methods to install fonttools on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

How To Uninstall fonttools on Ubuntu 22.04

sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonttools

Remove fonttools Configurations and Data

To remove fonttools configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge fonttools
