What is cadaver

cadaver is:

cadaver supports file upload, download, on-screen display, in-place editing, namespace operations (move/copy), collection creation and deletion, property manipulation, and resource locking.

Its operation is similar to the standard BSD ftp(1) client and the Samba Project’s smbclient(1).

This package includes GnuTLS (HTTPS) support.

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which allow users to collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers.

There are three methods to install cadaver on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cadaver Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install cadaver using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install cadaver

How To Uninstall cadaver on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall only the cadaver package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove cadaver

Uninstall cadaver And Its Dependencies

To uninstall cadaver and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove cadaver

Remove cadaver Configurations and Data

To remove cadaver configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge cadaver

Remove cadaver configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove cadaver configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cadaver
