What is syslinux-efi

syslinux-efi is:

syslinux is a suite of bootloaders, currently supporting DOS FAT and NTFS filesystems (SYSLINUX), Linux ext2/ext3/ext4, btrfs, and xfs filesystems (EXTLINUX), PXE network boots (PXELINUX), or ISO 9660 CD-ROMs (ISOLINUX).

This package contains the bootloader for the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI).

There are three methods to install syslinux-efi on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install syslinux-efi Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install syslinux-efi using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install syslinux-efi

How To Uninstall syslinux-efi on Ubuntu 20.04

To uninstall only the syslinux-efi package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove syslinux-efi

Uninstall syslinux-efi And Its Dependencies

To uninstall syslinux-efi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove syslinux-efi

Remove syslinux-efi Configurations and Data

To remove syslinux-efi configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge syslinux-efi

Remove syslinux-efi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove syslinux-efi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge syslinux-efi
