What is stun-client

stun-client is:

The STUN protocol (Simple Traversal of UDP through NATs) is described in the IETF RFC 3489, available at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3489.txt. It’s used to help clients behind NAT to tunnel incoming calls through. This server is the counterpart to help the client identify the NAT and have it open the proper ports for it.

This package installs only the client.

There are three methods to install stun-client on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install stun-client Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install stun-client using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install stun-client

Install stun-client Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install stun-client using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install stun-client

Install stun-client Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install stun-client using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install stun-client

How To Uninstall stun-client on Ubuntu 20.04

To uninstall only the stun-client package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove stun-client

Uninstall stun-client And Its Dependencies

To uninstall stun-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove stun-client

Remove stun-client Configurations and Data

To remove stun-client configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge stun-client

Remove stun-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove stun-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge stun-client
