How To Install nut-client on Ubuntu 20.04

What is nut-client
nut-client is:
Network UPS Tools (NUT) is a client/server monitoring system that allows computers to share uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power distribution unit (PDU) hardware. Clients access the hardware through the server, and are notified whenever the power status changes.
This package provides NUT’s clients that allows the user to control and monitor the UPS.
There are three methods to install nut-client on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nut-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nut-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nut-client
Install nut-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nut-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nut-client
Install nut-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nut-client using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nut-client
How To Uninstall nut-client on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the nut-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nut-client
Uninstall nut-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nut-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nut-client
Remove nut-client Configurations and Data
To remove nut-client configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nut-client
Remove nut-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nut-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nut-client
