How To Install nunit-console on Ubuntu 20.04

What is nunit-console
nunit-console is:
NUnit is a unit testing framework for all .NET languages. It serves the same purpose as JUnit does in the Java world. It supports test categories, testing for exceptions and writing test results in plain text or XML.
NUnit targets the CLI (Common Language Infrastructure) and supports Mono and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
This package contains the console front-end.
There are three methods to install nunit-console
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nunit-console Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nunit-console
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nunit-console
Install nunit-console Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nunit-console
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nunit-console
Install nunit-console Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nunit-console
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nunit-console
How To Uninstall nunit-console on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the nunit-console
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nunit-console
Uninstall nunit-console And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nunit-console
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nunit-console
Remove nunit-console Configurations and Data
To remove nunit-console
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nunit-console
Remove nunit-console configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nunit-console
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nunit-console
