How To Install mythtv-backend on Ubuntu 20.04

What is mythtv-backend
mythtv-backend is:
MythTV provides a unified graphical interface for recording and viewing television programs. Refer to the mythtv package for more information.
This package contains only the server software, which provides video and audio capture and encoding services. In order to be useful, it requires a mythtv-frontend installation, either on the same system or one reachable via the network.
A database is also required. The mythtv-database package must be installed, either on the same system, or one reachable via the network.
For a complete installation of all MythTV components, install the ‘mythtv’ package.
There are three methods to install mythtv-backend on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mythtv-backend Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mythtv-backend using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mythtv-backend
Install mythtv-backend Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install mythtv-backend using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install mythtv-backend
Install mythtv-backend Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mythtv-backend using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mythtv-backend
How To Uninstall mythtv-backend on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the mythtv-backend package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mythtv-backend
Uninstall mythtv-backend And Its Dependencies
To uninstall mythtv-backend and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove mythtv-backend
Remove mythtv-backend Configurations and Data
To remove mythtv-backend configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mythtv-backend
Remove mythtv-backend configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove mythtv-backend configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
