How To Install libglew-dev on Ubuntu 20.04

The OpenGL Extension Wrangler, GLEW for short, is a library that handles initialization of OpenGL extensions in a portable and simple way. Once the program initializes the library and checks the availability of extensions, it can safely call the entry points defined by the extension. Currently GLEW supports almost all the extensions found in the OpenGL extension registry (http://www.opengl.org/registry).

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libglew-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libglew-dev
How To Uninstall libglew-dev on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libglew-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libglew-dev
Uninstall libglew-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libglew-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libglew-dev
Remove libglew-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libglew-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libglew-dev
