How To Install gtk-gnutella on Ubuntu 20.04

Gnutella is a peer-based file-sharing protocol that allows a user running a Gnutella client to search for and download files from other Gnutella users, as well as share some files of his/her own.
Gtk-Gnutella offers all the extra features you expect from a modern client: persistent downloads, searches and filters, intuitive interface, upload statistics, queuing, and of course total control over many configuration parameters.
There are three methods to install gtk-gnutella on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gtk-gnutella Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gtk-gnutella using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gtk-gnutella
Install gtk-gnutella Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gtk-gnutella using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gtk-gnutella
Install gtk-gnutella Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gtk-gnutella using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gtk-gnutella
How To Uninstall gtk-gnutella on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the gtk-gnutella package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gtk-gnutella
Uninstall gtk-gnutella And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gtk-gnutella and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gtk-gnutella
Remove gtk-gnutella Configurations and Data
To remove gtk-gnutella configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gtk-gnutella
Remove gtk-gnutella configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gtk-gnutella configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gtk-gnutella
