How To Install fasd on Ubuntu 20.04

What is fasd
fasd is:
Fasd (pronounced similar to “fast”) is a command-line productivity booster. Fasd offers quick access to files and directories for POSIX shells. It is inspired by tools like autojump, z and v. Fasd keeps track of files and directories you have accessed, so that you can quickly reference them in the command line.
The name fasd comes from the default suggested aliases f(files), a(files/directories), s(show/search/select), d(directories).
There are three methods to install fasd
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fasd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fasd
using apt-get

How To Uninstall fasd on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the fasd

sudo apt-get -y autoremove fasd
Remove fasd Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fasd
