How To Install ewf-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

What is ewf-tools
ewf-tools is:
Libewf is a library with support for reading and writing the Expert Witness Compression Format (EWF). This library allows you to read media information of EWF files in the SMART (EWF-S01) format and the EnCase (EWF-E01) format. It supports files created by EnCase 1 to 6, linen and FTK Imager. The libewf is useful for forensics investigations.
This package contains tools to acquire, verify and export EWF files.
There are three methods to install ewf-tools
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ewf-tools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ewf-tools

After updating apt database, We can install ewf-tools

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install ewf-tools
using aptitude

How To Uninstall ewf-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ewf-tools
