How To Install elektra-tests on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install elektra-tests
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is elektra-tests
elektra-tests is:
Elektra provides a universal and secure framework to store configuration parameters in a hierarchical key-value pair mechanism, instead of each program using its own text configuration files. This allows any program to read and save its configuration with a consistent API, and allows them to be aware of other applications’ configurations, permitting easy application integration. While architecturally similar to other OS registries, Elektra does not have most of the problems found in those implementations.
This package contains the Elektra test suite.
There are three methods to install elektra-tests
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install elektra-tests Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install elektra-tests
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install elektra-tests
Install elektra-tests Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install elektra-tests
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install elektra-tests
Install elektra-tests Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install elektra-tests
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install elektra-tests
How To Uninstall elektra-tests on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the elektra-tests
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove elektra-tests
Uninstall elektra-tests And Its Dependencies
To uninstall elektra-tests
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove elektra-tests
Remove elektra-tests Configurations and Data
To remove elektra-tests
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge elektra-tests
Remove elektra-tests configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove elektra-tests
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge elektra-tests
