Once your tasks are integrated, Mylyn monitors your work activity to identify information relevant to the task-at-hand, and uses this task context to focus the Eclipse UI on the interesting information, hide the uninteresting, and automatically find what’s related. This puts the information you need to get work done at your fingertips and improves productivity by reducing searching, scrolling, and navigation. By making task context explicit Mylyn also facilitates multitasking, planning, reusing past efforts, and sharing expertise.
There are three methods to install eclipse-mylyn on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install eclipse-mylyn Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install eclipse-mylyn using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install eclipse-mylyn

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install eclipse-mylyn using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install eclipse-mylyn
Install eclipse-mylyn Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install eclipse-mylyn using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install eclipse-mylyn
How To Uninstall eclipse-mylyn on Ubuntu 18.04
