How To Install dovecot-sieve on Ubuntu 18.04

Dovecot is a mail server whose major goals are security and extreme reliability. It tries very hard to handle all error conditions and verify that all data is valid, making it nearly impossible to crash. It supports mbox/Maildir and its own dbox/mdbox formats, and should also be pretty fast, extensible, and portable.
This package provides Sieve filters support for Dovecot.
There are three methods to install dovecot-sieve on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dovecot-sieve Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-sieve using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-sieve using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dovecot-sieve
Install dovecot-sieve Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-sieve using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dovecot-sieve
How To Uninstall dovecot-sieve on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the dovecot-sieve package we can use the following command:

To uninstall dovecot-sieve and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dovecot-sieve
Remove dovecot-sieve Configurations and Data
To remove dovecot-sieve configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dovecot-sieve

We can use the following command to remove dovecot-sieve configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
