How To Install dovecot-antispam on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dovecot-antispam on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is dovecot-antispam
dovecot-antispam is:
dovecot-antispam watches designated spam folders and trains mail as spam or not-spam when it moves in or out of those folders respectively.
dovecot-antispam supports dspam, crm114, and generic training by mailing spam and non-spam to training addresses. For crm114, it supports folders for the additional “unsure” classification, and trains when moving from there to spam or normal folders.
There are three methods to install dovecot-antispam on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dovecot-antispam Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-antispam using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dovecot-antispam
Install dovecot-antispam Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-antispam using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dovecot-antispam
Install dovecot-antispam Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install dovecot-antispam using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dovecot-antispam
How To Uninstall dovecot-antispam on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the dovecot-antispam package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dovecot-antispam
Uninstall dovecot-antispam And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dovecot-antispam and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dovecot-antispam
Remove dovecot-antispam Configurations and Data
To remove dovecot-antispam configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dovecot-antispam
Remove dovecot-antispam configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dovecot-antispam configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dovecot-antispam
