What is designate-pool-manager

designate-pool-manager is:

Designate provides DNSaaS services for OpenStack. It provides a multi-tenant REST API for domain & record management. It is Integrated with Keystone for authentication, and provides a framework in place to integrate with Nova and Neutron notifications (for auto-generated records). Designate supports PowerDNS and Bind9 out of the box.

This package provides the pool manager service.

There are three methods to install designate-pool-manager on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install designate-pool-manager Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install designate-pool-manager using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install designate-pool-manager

Install designate-pool-manager Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install designate-pool-manager using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install designate-pool-manager

Install designate-pool-manager Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install designate-pool-manager using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install designate-pool-manager

How To Uninstall designate-pool-manager on Ubuntu 18.04
