ANSI Common Lisp is a high-level, general-purpose programming language. GNU CLISP is a Common Lisp implementation by Bruno Haible of Karlsruhe University and Michael Stoll of Munich University, both in Germany. It mostly supports the Lisp described in the ANSI Common Lisp standard. It runs on most Unix workstations (GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris, Tru64, HP-UX, BeOS, NeXTstep, IRIX, AIX and others) and on other systems (Windows NT/2000/XP, Windows 95/98/ME) and needs only 4 MB of RAM.
There are three methods to install clisp-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install clisp-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install clisp-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install clisp-dev
How To Uninstall clisp-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the clisp-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove clisp-dev
Uninstall clisp-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall clisp-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove clisp-dev
Remove clisp-dev Configurations and Data
To remove clisp-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge clisp-dev

We can use the following command to remove clisp-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge clisp-dev
