How To Install cl-mcclim on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install cl-mcclim
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is cl-mcclim
cl-mcclim is:
McCLIM is a free implementation of the CLIM specification. CLIM (Common Lisp Interface Manager) is a cross-platform, cross-implementation graphic user interface toolkit for Common Lisp programs.
This package contains the McCLIM library.
Please note that a CLX implementation compatible with your CL system, i.e. cl-clx-sbcl for sbcl and cmucl-source for cmucl, is required to compile and run cl-mcclim.
There are three methods to install cl-mcclim
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cl-mcclim Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-mcclim
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cl-mcclim
Install cl-mcclim Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-mcclim
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cl-mcclim
Install cl-mcclim Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-mcclim
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cl-mcclim
How To Uninstall cl-mcclim on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the cl-mcclim
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cl-mcclim
Uninstall cl-mcclim And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cl-mcclim
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cl-mcclim
Remove cl-mcclim Configurations and Data
To remove cl-mcclim
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cl-mcclim
Remove cl-mcclim configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cl-mcclim
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cl-mcclim
