How To Install citadel-suite on Ubuntu 18.04

What is citadel-suite

Citadel is a complete and feature-rich open source groupware platform.

The Citadel system is extremely versatile. It provides numerous front ends to present to users, such as a text-based interface, an AJAX-style web interface, and many popular PIM clients using SMTP/POP/IMAP. All of these can be used simultaneously.
It’s also extremely scalable. Not only can a well-equipped Citadel server support a large number of concurrent users, but you can also build a distributed network of Citadel nodes that share rooms and their content.
There are three methods to install citadel-suite on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install citadel-suite Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install citadel-suite using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install citadel-suite
Install citadel-suite Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install citadel-suite using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install citadel-suite
Install citadel-suite Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install citadel-suite using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install citadel-suite
How To Uninstall citadel-suite on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the citadel-suite package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove citadel-suite
Uninstall citadel-suite And Its Dependencies
To uninstall citadel-suite and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove citadel-suite
Remove citadel-suite Configurations and Data
To remove citadel-suite configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge citadel-suite
Remove citadel-suite configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove citadel-suite configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge citadel-suite
