What is ario-common

ario-common is:

Ario is a full featured client for MPD (Music Player Daemon). The interface used to browse the library is inspired by Rhythmbox but Ario aims to be much lighter and faster. It uses GTK2, avahi for MPD server detection and curl to download remote files (like cover arts and lyrics). Various plugins are provided like audioscrobbler/last.fm submission or multimedia keys support.

This package contains ario’s architecture-independent support files.

There are three methods to install ario-common on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ario-common Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ario-common using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ario-common

Install ario-common Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ario-common using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ario-common

Install ario-common Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ario-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ario-common

How To Uninstall ario-common on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the ario-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ario-common

Uninstall ario-common And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ario-common and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ario-common

Remove ario-common Configurations and Data

To remove ario-common configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ario-common

Remove ario-common configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ario-common configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ario-common
