The GNU package mcron (Mellor’s cron) can be a 100% compatible replacement for Vixie cron (though the Debian package is not configured this way). It is written in pure Guile, and allows configuration files to be written in scheme (as well as Vixie’s original format) for infinite flexibility in specifying when jobs should be run.
There are three methods to install mcron
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get

Install mcron Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mcron
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install mcron

After updating apt database, We can install mcron

by running the following command:

Install mcron Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall mcron on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the mcron
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove mcron

To uninstall mcron

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mcron
Remove mcron Configurations and Data
To remove mcron
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge mcron
