How To Install julia on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install julia on Kali Linux. julia is high-performance programming language for technical computing

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install julia on Kali Linux.

What is julia

julia is:

Julia is a high-level, high-performance dynamic programming language for technical computing, with syntax that is familiar to users of other technical computing environments. It provides a sophisticated compiler, distributed parallel execution, numerical accuracy, and an extensive mathematical function library. The library, mostly written in Julia itself, also integrates mature, best-of-breed C and Fortran libraries for linear algebra, random number generation, FFTs, and string processing. Julia programs are organized around defining functions, and overloading them for different combinations of argument types (which can also be user-defined).

This package provides a complete Julia installation (JIT compiler, standard library, text-based user interface).

There are three methods to install julia on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install julia Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install julia using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install julia

Install julia Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install julia using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install julia

Install julia Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install julia using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install julia

How To Uninstall julia on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the julia package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove julia

Uninstall julia And Its Dependencies

To uninstall julia and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove julia

Remove julia Configurations and Data

To remove julia configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge julia

Remove julia configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove julia configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge julia

Dependencies

julia have the following dependencies:
