What is hatari

hatari is:

Hatari is an emulator for the Atari ST line of computers.

The Atari ST was a 16/32 bit computer system which was first released by Atari in 1985. Using the Motorola 68000 CPU, it was a very popular computer having quite a lot of CPU power at that time.

Unlike most other open source Atari ST emulators which try to provide a good environment for running GEM applications, Hatari tries to emulate the hardware of a ST as close as possible so that it is able to run most of the old Atari games and demos. Because of this, it may be somewhat slower than less accurate emulators.

There are three methods to install hatari on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install hatari Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install hatari using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install hatari

Install hatari Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install hatari using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install hatari

Install hatari Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install hatari using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install hatari

How To Uninstall hatari on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the hatari package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove hatari

Uninstall hatari And Its Dependencies

To uninstall hatari and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove hatari

Remove hatari Configurations and Data

To remove hatari configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge hatari

Remove hatari configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
