How To Install hasciicam on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install hasciicam on Kali Linux.
What is hasciicam
hasciicam is:
Hasciicam makes it possible to have live ASCII video on the web. It captures video from a tv card and renders it into ascii, formatting the output into an html page with a refresh tag or in a live ASCII window or in a simple text file as well, giving the possibility to anybody that has a bttv card, a Linux box and a cheap modem line to show a live ASCII video feed that can be browsable without any need for plugin, java etc.
There are three methods to install hasciicam on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hasciicam Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hasciicam using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install hasciicamInstall hasciicam Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hasciicam using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install hasciicamInstall hasciicam Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install hasciicam using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install hasciicamHow To Uninstall hasciicam on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the hasciicam package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hasciicamUninstall hasciicam And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hasciicam and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hasciicamRemove hasciicam Configurations and Data
To remove hasciicam configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge hasciicamRemove hasciicam configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove hasciicam configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge hasciicamDependencies
