What is gtkboard

gtkboard is:

Gtkboard aims to provide a common platform for all board games. All games have a common interface. The first thing you do on starting gtkboard is to select a game from the menu. Currently 18 games are implemented. Of these, Antichess, Ataxx, Fifteen puzzle, Hiq, Memory, Othello, Pentaline, Plot4, Rgb and Samegame are fully implemented. Checkers, Infiltrate, Hypermaze, Mastermind, Maze, and Tetris are partially implemented but playable. Chess, and Pacman are partially implemented and currently unplayable. Some are single player and some are two player games.

There are three methods to install gtkboard on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install gtkboard Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install gtkboard using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install gtkboard

Install gtkboard Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install gtkboard using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install gtkboard

Install gtkboard Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install gtkboard using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install gtkboard

How To Uninstall gtkboard on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the gtkboard package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gtkboard

Uninstall gtkboard And Its Dependencies

To uninstall gtkboard and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove gtkboard

Remove gtkboard Configurations and Data

To remove gtkboard configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge gtkboard

Remove gtkboard configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
