What is greylistd

This daemon provides a simple greylisting implementation for use with the Exim Mail Transport Agent (MTA), version 4.

Once installed, you will need to configure your MTA to query the greylistd server. This package contains a script to automatically configure Exim 4. It may be possible to use greylistd with other MTAs as well. Postfix users may want to check out the “postgrey” package instead of this one.

There are three methods to install greylistd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install greylistd Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install greylistd using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install greylistd
