In this tutorial we learn how to install gnomint on Kali Linux.

What is gnomint

gnomint is:

gnoMint is a tool for easily creating and managing certification authorities. It provides fancy visualization of all the pieces of information that pertain to a CA, such as X.509 certificates, CSRs, and CRLs.

gnoMint is currently capable of managing a CA that emits certificates that are able to authenticate people or machines in VPNs (IPSec or other protocols), secure HTTP communications with SSL/TLS, authenticate and cipher HTTP communications through Web-client certificates, and sign or crypt email messages.

There are three methods to install gnomint on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install gnomint Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install gnomint using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install gnomint

Install gnomint Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install gnomint using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install gnomint

Install gnomint Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install gnomint using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install gnomint

How To Uninstall gnomint on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the gnomint package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gnomint

Uninstall gnomint And Its Dependencies

To uninstall gnomint and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove gnomint

Remove gnomint Configurations and Data

To remove gnomint configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge gnomint

Remove gnomint configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove gnomint configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gnomint
