How To Install glade on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install glade on Kali Linux.

What is glade

glade is:

Glade is a RAD tool to enable quick and easy development of user interfaces for the GTK+ toolkit.

The user interfaces designed in Glade are stored in the well-known XML format, enabling easy integration with external tools. You will probably want to use it with tools such as GtkBuilder, which can load the XML files and create the interfaces at runtime.

This version is more modular than previous ones, so you can install modules to add additional widgets for Glade to use.

There are three methods to install glade on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install glade Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install glade using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install glade

Install glade Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install glade using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install glade

Install glade Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install glade using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install glade

How To Uninstall glade on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the glade package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove glade

Uninstall glade And Its Dependencies

To uninstall glade and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove glade

Remove glade Configurations and Data

To remove glade configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge glade

Remove glade configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove glade configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge glade
