How To Install fcitx on Kali Linux

What is fcitx
fcitx is:
Fcitx is an input method framework with extension support, which provides an interface for entering characters of different scripts in applications using a variety of mapping systems.
It offers a pleasant and modern experience, with intuitive graphical configuration tools and customizable skins and mapping tables. It is highly modularized and extensible, with GTK+ 2/3 and Qt5 IM Modules, support for UIs based on Fbterm, pure Xlib, GTK+, or KDE, and a developer-friendly API.
This metapackage pulls in a set of components recommended for most desktop users.
There are three methods to install fcitx on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fcitx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fcitx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fcitxInstall fcitx Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fcitx using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fcitxInstall fcitx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fcitx using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fcitxHow To Uninstall fcitx on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fcitx package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fcitxUninstall fcitx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fcitx and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fcitxRemove fcitx Configurations and Data
To remove fcitx configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fcitxRemove fcitx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fcitx configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fcitxDependencies
