How To Install dovecot-pgsql on Kali Linux

dovecot-pgsql is:
Dovecot is a mail server whose major goals are security and extreme reliability. It tries very hard to handle all error conditions and verify that all data is valid, making it nearly impossible to crash. It supports mbox/Maildir and its own dbox/mdbox formats, and should also be pretty fast, extensible, and portable.
This package provides PostgreSQL support for Dovecot.
There are three methods to install dovecot-pgsql on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dovecot-pgsql Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dovecot-pgsql using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dovecot-pgsqlInstall dovecot-pgsql Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dovecot-pgsql using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dovecot-pgsqlInstall dovecot-pgsql Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dovecot-pgsql using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dovecot-pgsqlHow To Uninstall dovecot-pgsql on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dovecot-pgsql package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dovecot-pgsqlUninstall dovecot-pgsql And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dovecot-pgsql and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dovecot-pgsqlRemove dovecot-pgsql Configurations and Data
To remove dovecot-pgsql configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dovecot-pgsqlRemove dovecot-pgsql configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dovecot-pgsql configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dovecot-pgsqlDependencies
