How To Install dnss on Kali Linux

What is dnss
dnss is:
dnss is a daemon for using DNS over HTTPS.
It can act as a proxy, receiving DNS requests and resolving them using DNS-over-HTTPs (DoH). This can be useful to improve DNS security and privacy on laptops and small/home networks.
It can also act as a DoH server, in case you want end to end control.
There are three methods to install dnss
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dnss Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dnss
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dnss

After updating apt database, We can install dnss
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dnss
Install dnss Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install dnss
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install dnss
How To Uninstall dnss on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dnss
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dnss

sudo apt-get -y autoremove dnss
