What is cinder-backup

cinder-backup is:

Cinder is a block Storage-as-a-Service system for the OpenStack cloud computing suite. It re-implements the features of Nova-volume, which it directly replaces.

Cinder uses LVM partitions of your volume servers in order to provide iSCSI permanent block storage devices for your virtual machines running on Nova. It also has back-end drivers for many hardware and software storage solutions like Ceph, NFS, Net-APP, etc.

This package contains the Cinder backup service.

There are three methods to install cinder-backup on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cinder-backup Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cinder-backup using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install cinder-backup

Install cinder-backup Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install cinder-backup using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install cinder-backup

Install cinder-backup Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install cinder-backup using aptitude by running the following command:
