What is bossa-cli

bossa-cli is:

BOSSA is a flash programming utility for Atmel’s SAM family of flash-based ARM microcontrollers. The motivation behind BOSSA is to create a simple, easy-to- use, open source utility to replace Atmel’s SAM-BA software.

This package contains the BOSSA command line interface and interactive shell (i.e., bossac and bossash).

There are three methods to install bossa-cli on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install bossa-cli Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install bossa-cli using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install bossa-cli

Install bossa-cli Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install bossa-cli using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install bossa-cli

Install bossa-cli Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install bossa-cli using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install bossa-cli

How To Uninstall bossa-cli on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the bossa-cli package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove bossa-cli

Uninstall bossa-cli And Its Dependencies

To uninstall bossa-cli and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove bossa-cli

Remove bossa-cli Configurations and Data

To remove bossa-cli configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge bossa-cli

Remove bossa-cli configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
