In this tutorial we learn how to install zulucrypt on CentOS 7.
What is zulucrypt
zuluCrypt is a front end to cryptsetup. It makes it easier to use cryptsetup by providing a Qt-based GUI and a simpler to use CLI frontend to cryptsetup. It does the same thing truecrypt does but without licensing problems or requiring a user to setup sudo for it or presenting root’s password. This package contains the applications.
We can use yum or dnf to install zulucrypt on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install zulucrypt.
Install zulucrypt on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install zulucrypt using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install zulucrypt
Install zulucrypt on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install zulucrypt using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install zulucrypt
How To Uninstall zulucrypt on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the zulucrypt package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove zulucrypt
