How To Install znc-backlog on Debian 11

What is znc-backlog
znc-backlog is:
znc-backlog is a third party ZNC module that makes it easy to request backlog. Its intended use is for when you have just launched your IRC client and gotten a few lines of backlog sent to you, but want to read more. Instead of having to deal with shelling into the box where you run ZNC and manually sifting through the logs, you can issue a short command in your IRC client to request any amount of the most recent lines of log.

There are three methods to install znc-backlog
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install znc-backlog Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-backlog
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install znc-backlog
Install znc-backlog Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-backlog
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install znc-backlog
Install znc-backlog Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install znc-backlog
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install znc-backlog
How To Uninstall znc-backlog on Debian 11
To uninstall only the znc-backlog
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove znc-backlog
Uninstall znc-backlog And Its Dependencies
To uninstall znc-backlog
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove znc-backlog
Remove znc-backlog Configurations and Data
To remove znc-backlog
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge znc-backlog
