How To Install zmap on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install zmap on Kali Linux.
What is zmap
zmap is:
ZMap is a network scanner that enables researchers to easily perform Internet-wide network studies. With a single machine and a well provisioned network uplink, ZMap is capable of performing a complete scan of the IPv4 address space in under 45 minutes, approaching the theoretical limit of gigabit Ethernet.
ZMap can be used to study protocol adoption over time, monitor service availability, and help people better understand large systems distributed across the Internet.
There are three methods to install zmap on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install zmap Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install zmap using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install zmapInstall zmap Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install zmap using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install zmapInstall zmap Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install zmap using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install zmapHow To Uninstall zmap on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the zmap package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove zmapUninstall zmap And Its Dependencies
To uninstall zmap and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove zmapRemove zmap Configurations and Data
To remove zmap configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge zmapRemove zmap configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove zmap configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge zmapDependencies
