How To Install zfp on Debian 12

What is zfp
zfp is:
This is a compressed format for representing multidimensional floating-point and integer arrays. zfp provides compressed-array classes that support high throughput read and write random access to individual array elements. zfp also supports serial and parallel (OpenMP and CUDA) compression of whole arrays, e.g., for applications that read and write large data sets to and from disk.
This package contains the binary program zfp.
There are three methods to install zfp on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install zfp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install zfp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install zfp
Install zfp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install zfp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install zfp
Install zfp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install zfp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install zfp
How To Uninstall zfp on Debian 12
To uninstall only the zfp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove zfp
Uninstall zfp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall zfp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove zfp
Remove zfp Configurations and Data
To remove zfp configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge zfp
