How To Install zeromq3 on CentOS 7

What is zeromq3
The 0MQ lightweight messaging kernel is a library which extends the standard socket interfaces with features traditionally provided by specialized messaging middle-ware products. 0MQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple transport protocols and more. This package contains the ZeroMQ shared library for versions 3.x.
We can use yum or dnf to install zeromq3 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install zeromq3.
Install zeromq3 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install zeromq3 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install zeromq3
Install zeromq3 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install zeromq3 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install zeromq3
How To Uninstall zeromq3 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the zeromq3 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove zeromq3
