How To Install z88-data on Ubuntu 18.04

What is z88-data
z88-data is:
Z88 features 20 finite element types covering plane stress, plate bending, axial symmetric structures and spacial structures up to 20-node Serendipity hexahedrons. Z88 comes with a user-friendly interface, a powerful mesh generator, a DXF-converter, two plot programs and, of course, two powerful solvers. Import of COSMOS files from Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA is supported.

There are three methods to install z88-data on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install z88-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install z88-data using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install z88-data
Install z88-data Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install z88-data using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install z88-data
Install z88-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install z88-data using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install z88-data
How To Uninstall z88-data on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the z88-data package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove z88-data

To uninstall z88-data and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove z88-data
Remove z88-data Configurations and Data
To remove z88-data configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge z88-data
Remove z88-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove z88-data configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge z88-data
