How To Install yosys-doc on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install yosys-doc on Kali Linux.

What is yosys-doc

yosys-doc is:

Yosys is a framework for Verilog RTL synthesis. It currently has extensive Verilog-2005 support and provides a basic set of synthesis algorithms for various application domains.

Yosys can be adapted to perform any synthesis job by combining the existing passes (algorithms) using synthesis scripts and adding additional passes as needed by extending the yosys C++ code base.

There are three methods to install yosys-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install yosys-doc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install yosys-doc using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install yosys-doc

Install yosys-doc Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install yosys-doc using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install yosys-doc

Install yosys-doc Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install yosys-doc using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install yosys-doc

How To Uninstall yosys-doc on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the yosys-doc package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove yosys-doc

Uninstall yosys-doc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall yosys-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove yosys-doc

Remove yosys-doc Configurations and Data

To remove yosys-doc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge yosys-doc

Remove yosys-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove yosys-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge yosys-doc
