How To Install yorick-soy on Ubuntu 18.04

What is yorick-soy
yorick-soy is:
Sparse Operations with Yorick is a plugin for Yorick (an interpreted computer language specialized for numerical and scientific problems) that allows performing efficient operations on sparse matrices. This software is also available for the commercial language IDL.

- Utilizes a sparse row-wise format optimized for fast matrix-vector multiplication
- Structure implementation for user-friendly interface on the Yorick/IDL scripting level
- Explicit memory handling on the scripting level
- As of v1.2 portable to 64-bit computing platforms
- Offers basic matrix algebra and manipulation in single or double precision
- Offers scripts for solving linear systems by e.g. conjugate gradients
- Offers saving of sparse structures on a common FITS format or an internal binary format. Using the FITS format makes the saved matrices portable between the IDL/Yorick distributions.
There are three methods to install yorick-soy on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install yorick-soy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

Install yorick-soy Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install yorick-soy using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install yorick-soy
How To Uninstall yorick-soy on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the yorick-soy package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove yorick-soy
Uninstall yorick-soy And Its Dependencies
To uninstall yorick-soy and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove yorick-soy
Remove yorick-soy Configurations and Data
To remove yorick-soy configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge yorick-soy
Remove yorick-soy configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove yorick-soy configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
