How To Install ydpdict on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install ydpdict on Debian 12.
What is ydpdict
ydpdict is:
This is an ncurses interface to the Collins English-Polish/Polish-English and/or Langenscheidt German-Polish/Polish-German dictionaries distributed by Young Digital Planet. It can also play the pronunciation samples if the CD is available.
This package is only the interface, it does not contain the dictionary files itself. To use it, you need a copy of a dictionary from YDP.
There are three methods to install ydpdict on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ydpdict Using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install ydpdict using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall ydpdict on Debian 12
To uninstall only the ydpdict package we can use the following command:

To uninstall ydpdict and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:

Remove ydpdict Configurations and Data
To remove ydpdict configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ydpdict
