How To Install xzgv on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xzgv on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is xzgv
xzgv is:
xzgv is a picture viewer for X, with a thumbnail-based file selector. Most file formats are supported, and the thumbnails used are compatible with xv, zgv, and the Gimp. It can also be used with `xzgv file(s)’, to effectively bypass the file selector.
xzgv differs from other picture viewers for X in that it uses one window for both the file selector and viewer, it (unlike xv) allows both scrolling and fit-to-window methods of viewing large pictures, and it (unlike xv and some others) doesn’t ever mangle the picture’s aspect ratio.
It also provides extensive keyboard support; if you prefer using the keyboard, this is almost certainly the best viewer for you. But it doesn’t skimp on the mousey stuff, either.
Note that this program is written by the author of the svgalib-based “zgv”, and has similar features.

There are three methods to install xzgv on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xzgv Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xzgv using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install xzgv using apt by running the following command:

Install xzgv Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install xzgv using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xzgv
How To Uninstall xzgv on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the xzgv package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xzgv
Uninstall xzgv And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xzgv and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xzgv
Remove xzgv Configurations and Data
To remove xzgv configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xzgv
Remove xzgv configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xzgv configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
