How To Install xutils on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install xutils on Debian 10.
What is xutils
xutils is:
xutils provides a set of utility programs shipped with the X Window System. Many of these programs are useful even on a system that does not have any X clients or X servers installed.
This package is provided for transition from earlier Debian releases, the programs formerly in xutils and xbase-clients having been split out in smaller packages.
There are three methods to install xutils on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xutils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xutils using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install xutils using apt by running the following command:

Install xutils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install xutils using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall xutils on Debian 10
To uninstall only the xutils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xutils

To uninstall xutils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xutils

To remove xutils configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xutils
