How To Install xtide-data on Debian 9

What is xtide-data
xtide-data is:
XTide is a package that provides tide and current predictions in a wide variety of formats. Graphs, text listings, and calendars can be generated, or a tide clock can be provided on your desktop.
This package provides the harmonics data used by the xtide package to display tidal information for most parts of the world. The data are packaged separately from xtide because they may be updated separately.
Some data omitted from the upstream harmonics file because of restrictions on commercial distribution and were included in the non-free package xtide-data-nonfree.
There are three methods to install xtide-data
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xtide-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xtide-data

Update apt database with apt

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xtide-data
Install xtide-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xtide-data
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xtide-data
How To Uninstall xtide-data on Debian 9
To uninstall only the xtide-data
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xtide-data
Uninstall xtide-data And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xtide-data
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xtide-data
Remove xtide-data Configurations and Data
To remove xtide-data
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xtide-data
Remove xtide-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xtide-data
