How To Install xtel on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xtel on Kali Linux.
What is xtel
xtel is:
This is a lesstif Minitel client that runs on color/black and white X Display and a xteld daemon that can make Minitel connection with one or more modems.
The Minitel is a dedicated terminal for accessing the Teletel, the French videotex network. Thus, this package is almost only for French users. This package now supports the 3622 I-Minitel protocol (more information on http://www.i-minitel.com).
There are three methods to install xtel on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xtel Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xtel using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xtelInstall xtel Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xtel using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xtelInstall xtel Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xtel using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xtelHow To Uninstall xtel on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xtel package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xtelUninstall xtel And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xtel and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xtelRemove xtel Configurations and Data
To remove xtel configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xtelRemove xtel configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xtel configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xtelDependencies
