What is xorg-x11-drivers
The purpose of this package is to require all of the individual X.Org driver rpms, to allow the OS installation software to install all drivers all at once, without having to track which individual drivers are present on each architecture. By installing this package, it forces all of the individual driver packages to be installed.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install xorg-x11-drivers
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xorg-x11-drivers.
Install xorg-x11-drivers on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xorg-x11-drivers
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xorg-x11-drivers
Install xorg-x11-drivers on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xorg-x11-drivers
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xorg-x11-drivers
How To Uninstall xorg-x11-drivers on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the xorg-x11-drivers
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xorg-x11-drivers
