In this tutorial we learn how to install xom on CentOS 7.

What is xom

XOM is a new XML object model. It is an open source (LGPL), tree-based API for processing XML with Java that strives for correctness, simplicity, and performance, in that order. XOM is designed to be easy to learn and easy to use. It works very straight-forwardly, and has a very shallow learning curve. Assuming you’re already familiar with XML, you should be able to get up and running with XOM very quickly.

We can use yum or dnf to install xom on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xom.

Install xom on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install xom using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install xom

Install xom on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install xom using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xom

How To Uninstall xom on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the xom package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xom
