How To Install xnest on Ubuntu 18.04

What is xnest
xnest is:
Xnest is a nested X server that simply relays all its requests to another X server, where it runs as a client. This means that it appears as another window in your current X session. Xnest relies upon its parent X server for font services.
Use of the Xephyr X server instead of Xnest is recommended.

This package is built from the X.org xserver module.
There are three methods to install xnest on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xnest Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xnest using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xnest
Install xnest Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xnest using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xnest
Install xnest Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall xnest on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the xnest package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xnest

To uninstall xnest and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xnest
Remove xnest Configurations and Data
To remove xnest configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xnest
Remove xnest configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
