How To Install xmpi on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xmpi on Kali Linux.
What is xmpi
xmpi is:
MPI is a standard for writing parallel processing programs using a well defined Message Passing Interface.
XMPI can acquire and display extensive detail on an application’s MPI communication, including the following: o process synchronization status: running, system or blocked o message queue contents o source, destination, root ranks o MPI function name o communicator o data type o message count o tag The above information is acquired from on-demand snapshots of application status using debugging hooks in the MPI implementation or from a trace log of communication activity.
There are three methods to install xmpi on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xmpi Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xmpi using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xmpiInstall xmpi Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xmpi using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xmpiInstall xmpi Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xmpi using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xmpiHow To Uninstall xmpi on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xmpi package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xmpiUninstall xmpi And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xmpi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xmpiRemove xmpi Configurations and Data
To remove xmpi configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xmpiRemove xmpi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xmpi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xmpiDependencies
